Family Sunday at Dortmunder U: Guided tours for children, cinema and creative offers throughout the house

On the first Sunday in October, the Family Sunday in the Dortmunder U offers a free programme for young and old visitors: On 6 October, 12 a.m. to 5 p.m., the whole family can discover the U and its offers on all floors.

A "journey through the U" starts at 2 pm and 3.30 pm. The guided tours for children aged 5 to 12 last one hour, the meeting point is the reception at the UZWEI. It also works the other way round: from 4.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., pupils take a tour of the U and show their favourite places in the house (meeting point: reception of the UZWEI).

Directly in the foyer, visitors are greeted by a huge painting meadow that needs to be designed. At the UZWEI it's "Build your own beat": You can compose your own beats in the exhibition area on the second floor. In the small media room on UZWEI there are hand puppets and cameras available with which children and young people can create their own photo stories.
In the school workshop on UZWEI, the Ostwall Museum offers an open workshop entitled "Memories of Summer", in which families can design notebooks with summery motifs, warm colours and genuine petals - so that they can also take the "feeling of summer" with them into autumn.

In the Kino im U, selected and awarded short films for children between the ages of 4 and 8 are shown, including animated films, documentaries and small feature films, each running for between 6 and 14 minutes.
The roof terrace and Café Moog are open.
