DEW21 Museum Night in and around the Dortmunder U: Full program inside and outside

With a spectacular mapping on the facade, the Dortmunder U invites to the 21st Dortmund DEW21 Museum Night. Under the title "What is Europe?!" the storyLab kiu of the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts will bring the U to life on Saturday, September 18. Twelve beamers will conjure up the three-dimensional video mapping on the west and south facades of the former brewery tower. From 9 p.m. to midnight, the 20-minute spectacle can be seen again and again - without registration or tickets.

All other Museum Night offerings at the Dortmunder U are also free and do not require advance registration. Among other things, the Museum Ostwall offers shorter and longer guided tours for families and for adults through the exhibition "Body & Soul - Thinking, Feeling, Brushing Teeth" every half hour from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.. In addition, there will be hands-on art activities between 4 and 11 p.m. in the "Flux Inn" and in the KunstAktionsRaum on Level 4.

Under the title "Art on the Move", short films dealing with bodies will be shown in the cinema in the U, matching the exhibition "Body & Soul": Themes include intersexuality, motherhood, bodies of color or the question of what digitalization is doing to our bodies (16.30, 19.00, 22.30, in cooperation with the International Women*Film Fest Dortmund and Cologne).

Dortmund's club culture presents itself at the UZWEI: From 4 p.m. to midnight, the exhibition installation "hello again" can be seen. Whoever enters will experience a club with all its facets: dance floor, chillarea, drinks bar, checkroom, DJ booth - including smeared toilets. If you take a closer look, you'll learn many stories that bring the space to life - and a lot about Dortmund's club scene. If you want, you can become a DJ yourself and have a DJ show you tips and tricks. You can also try out how to produce short songs with freely available music software.

On the university floor (level 1), the current exhibition "Werkstatt Universität" (University Workshop) provides insights into research and teaching at TU Dortmund University. At 6 and 9 p.m. there will be guided tours and talks in the exhibition. A guided tour of the Dortmunder U as a landmark, transformation site of structural change and hub of the city guide "Dortmunder Passagen" starts at 7:30 and at 10:30 p.m. on level 1. The exhibition "Studio 54: Night Magic" on level 6 is open but subject to a fee and requires pre-registration at studio54.dortmunder-u.de
