Closure on 12.1.2020 due to bomb disposal

Dear visitors,

in the area of the Dortmund hospital district, investigations into the disposal of explosive ordnance have been carried out in recent months. During the investigations, so-called anomalies were found, which indicate possible bomb dummies from the Second World War.

Whether these are in fact bomb dud-blinds can only be determined by excavation. In the course of the excavations, one or more bombs will be defused in the area of the hospital district on Sunday, 12 January 2020. As a result, the affected area and the civilian population living there will be evacuated from 8 am on Sunday.

As you can see in the diagram above, the Dortmunder U is also located within the affected area, which is why our house will be closed next Sunday. We ask you to take this into account in your planning.

The City of Dortmund will report all news at www.entschaerfung.dortmund.de and via the city's social media channels and will provide the latest information on the evacuation day.

Kind regards,
your team from the Dortmunder U
