From Saturday, 9 May 2020, the exhibition rooms of the Ostwall Museum will be open again. Visitors* must bring their own mouth and nose protectors. Some of the works of art are not open to the public. Unfortunately, events such as guided tours or workshops cannot yet take place. We ask for your understanding.

For 60 years the Friends of the MO have accompanied the Museum Ostwall. Thanks to their support, the museum has been able to make spectacular acquisitions: a painting by Max Beckmann, a sculpture by Hans Arp, and nearly 500 objects and documents from the Fluxus collection of Wolfgang Feelisch. In 2015, they even succeeded in buying back a painting by Heinrich Nauen that had been confiscated by the Nazis in 1937 and later reappeared on the art market.

Since 2014, the MO Art Prize has been awarded once a year to artists* in the tradition of Fluxus and Dada. This is accompanied by the purchase of a work of art for the museum's collection. In addition, the Friends of the MO support many projects of the MO art education - not least the "Schnittstelle", an event with offers by students of the TU Dortmund University for a young audience.

The exhibition and the accompanying publication provide an insight into the work of the association and show a small selection of works which - thanks to the Friends of the MO! - are now in the collection of the MO.

The MO showcase, in which the exhibition is presented, is located on level 5 of the Dortmunder U and is accessible via the collection presentation "Body & Soul. Thinking, Feeling, Brushing teeth".
